Thank you for visiting our school website. We hope that you can use it to find all the information you need about our happy and successful school. We also hope that you will enjoy sharing and celebrating the achievements of our pupils and the work of our amazing team.
We maintain our website ourselves and have tried to design it to give you a thorough understanding of what we do as well as provide regular updates for members of our community. We welcome feedback and would value your views on how we can continue to develop and improve the site for everyone who views and uses it.
A purposeful learning environment that is physically and emotionally safe.
A special school that ensures all children and young people are well prepared for further education, employment and participation in society.
As a school we will be relentless in our aim to:
Teach every pupil to read and keep them reading - no exceptions.
Ensure every pupil meets the objectives set out in their Education Health and Care Plan.
Provide a broad, balanced and challenging curriculum, which equips pupils for their next steps.
Model and nurture positive relationships and strong partnerships.
On behalf of our governors, our staff and our pupils it gives me great pleasure to welcome you to Springwell Learning Community. Our website is very important to us. We use it to celebrate the fantastic work that goes on at our school and to share important information about our policies, practice and procedures.
We are extremely proud of our school. We provide a happy, safe and secure environment where learning is enjoyable and teaching is shaped by the needs and interests of our pupils. If you require any more information, please get in touch. We look forward to hearing from you.

At Springwell we believe that every child deserves the best possible education to enable them to make good progress and realise their potential. As a team we want every child to leave school having developed a love of learning and with the skills and self-confidence needed to help them succeed in further education, training, employment and post-school life. We aim to build partnerships with parents, carers and children that are based on honesty, trust and mutual respect with the purpose of supporting the academic, vocational, personal and emotional development of our pupils.
It is important to remember that Springwell Learning Community consists of two schools that work together to support children and young people throughout Barnsley. Please let us know if you require specific information about the special school or the alternative academy.
